The World of Izumo-go, Izumo―

"Izumo-go" is one of the towns in Izumo-gun, Izumo, which is said to have been located in Hikawa-cho, Izumo-shi, and is called by the same name as the country-gun. From the surrounding area, there are many primitive ancient archeological sites, including the Kojindani archeological site where a large amount of Yayoi bronze ware wasIzumo. In this exhibition, we will explore the world of Izumo-go through the ruins of the Nara and Heian eras, such as the Gotani archeological site and the ancient Sanin Expressway, which are considered to be the site of Masakura in Izumo-go.
